How to connect Caletus API & webhooks to Caletus.
- A Caletus account. API keys are available on every plan, including Free.
- An API key, created in Caletus under Integrations > Caletus API & webhooks. A key acts as you, with your role in the workspace.
- A server to call the API from. Keep the key out of browsers and mobile apps.
- 1
Create a key
In Caletus, open Integrations, click 'Caletus API & webhooks' and create a key. Copy it straight away: it's shown only once. - 2
Call the API
Send the key in the X-API-Key header to https://<workspace>.caletus.com/caletus/api/v1/developer/v1, starting with GET /event-types. - 3
Subscribe to webhooks
POST your public HTTPS URL to /webhook_subscriptions and store the signing key from the response to verify each delivery.
What Caletus can access in Caletus API & webhooks
Keys are stored only as a SHA-256 hash and are shown once. A key can't create other keys, and revoking it stops it at once. Webhooks are signed with HMAC-SHA256 and a timestamp, and Caletus refuses to deliver to private or internal addresses.- Event types: the ones you own or host, or every event type in the workspace for owners and admins
- Bookings: times, status, location, invitee names, emails and answers, for meetings you host (owners and admins: the whole workspace)
- Actions: book and cancel meetings and create one-time links, with the same permissions you have in the app
Caletus API & webhooks limits and quick fixes.
- Paid event types can't be booked through the API yet. Send people to the event type's booking link instead.
- Each key can make 120 requests a minute, and available times cover at most 31 days per request.
- Webhook URLs must be public HTTPS addresses, and a workspace can have up to 25 webhook subscriptions.
- The key is missing, mistyped or revoked. Check the X-API-Key header, or create a new key under Integrations > Caletus API & webhooks.
- You've passed 120 requests a minute for that key. Wait for the number of seconds in the Retry-After header, then try again.
- After 50 failed deliveries in a row, Caletus disables the subscription. Fix your endpoint so it answers with a 2xx within 10 seconds, then set the subscription's state back to active.
Caletus API & webhooks integration FAQs.
Common questions about using Caletus API & webhooks with Caletus.
Talk it through with our teamMostly, yes. Caletus sends invitee.created, invitee.canceled and invitee.rescheduled events in a Calendly-style payload, and signs them with the same t=…,v1=… scheme, also sent as a Calendly-Webhook-Signature header. Check your handler against a test delivery before you switch.
A key acts as the person who created it, with their role. Owners and admins can see and manage every booking in the workspace; other members only their own. Only owners and admins can subscribe to webhooks for the whole workspace.
Server errors and timeouts are retried twice, after 1 and then 2 seconds. Every attempt is listed in the subscription's delivery log. After 50 failures in a row the subscription is disabled until you turn it back on.
